The red polish is an old Australian brand Satin called Poppy. I've had it for over 10 years and it's my favourite plain red, I call it my plastic red. It's one of the few polishes I kept when I gave away my collection way back when we were trying to conceive our first child (part of a detox). The base is Australian Ulta3 clear. The black is another Ulta3, but the made in PRC version that is a single coater. The greens are no name cheap ebay nail art brush/pens. I topped it all with INM Out The Door Northern Lights, a top coat with silver holo. In keeping with the Australian theme I should have used Joss Southern Lights but I don't have any.
Unfortunately the red and black both dragged/bled when I applied the top coat but I don't mind my poppies being of the fringed variety :)
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
John McCrae, May 1915
